About Air Namibia (SW)
Air Namibia (SW) is the flag carrier of Namibia, operating domestic, regional, and international services to 18 destinations in 9 countries across Africa and Europe. The airline’s international hub is Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport and the domestic hub is Windhoek Eros Airport. Air Namibia’s codeshare agreements provide a gateway to destinations in Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East via airports in Accra, Frankfurt, Johannesburg and Lusaka.
Air Namibia’s most popular destinations are Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Ondangwa, served by 14 daily flights each. Frankfurt is the top destination in Europe, although not quite considered a hub. The airline operates 6 daily flights to Luanda, Angola, and 4 daily flights to Harare, Zimbabwe; Lagos, Nigeria; and Accra, Ghana, respectively. Windhoek > Frankfurt and Lagos > Accra are the most popular Air Namibia routes, consisting of 24 daily flights in total. As Namibia’s economy continues to grow, more destinations are likely to be added to existing scheduled routes.

Tips for Air Namibia Passengers Renting Cars
The minimum age to rent a car with Air Namibia is 19 years old. Some restrictions and additional surcharges may apply to drivers under 25. So check the conditions on your rental car agreement.
All Air Namibia car rentals include Collision/Loss Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) and Theft Protection (TR). Both policies require excess amounts (deductibles) that vary by location. Before purchasing an Excess Damage Waiver, consult your credit card issuer about their travel insurance coverage. You can save money by avoiding duplicate policies.
Proof of address is required for residents of the United Kingdom, in addition to the usual driver’s license, passport, and credit card.
Debit cards are not accepted for any aspect of your Air Namibia car rental. Meanwhile, your credit card must have enough available credit to cover the excess (deductible) amounts, which vary by location. It’s recommended that the card be valid for 6 months from the time of the rental period to cover any after-the-fact expenses that may occur. Certain surcharges and penalties may take months to be billed to your account.
Cross border rentals are allowed to South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, and Botswana, with a letter of authority from the car hire provider — and a healthy fee. If you return the vehicle to a cross border location, you’ll only pay the one-way fee. Meanwhile, car rentals are not allowed to cross the border into Malawi, Mozambique, Angola, and Zambia.
For online booking, it’s highly recommended to bring a printed voucher to the car hire kiosk when picking up your car. Failure to do so could result in being charged the local rental rate.
